Not ready

I don't know about you, but I'm not ready for Christmas. I've purchased one gift. One. That's pathetic. I need to do some serious shopping...after the paycheck hits the account. The stress of buying gifts can rob the joy of Christmas but I'm not going to let that happen to me this year. I'm looking forward to a relaxed, pleasant time spent with my family. I wish that for everyone, too.
21 shopping days left!

Good day, no sunshine...

It was a yucky, rainy day so it was mainly spent indoors. We woke up early and went out for breakfast and the weather was nice. As we were leaving we noticed the clouds and my better half told me it was going to rain all day. We rushed home, then to the megastore (you know the one) and almost made it through the checkout when the skies opened wide and relieved themselves all over us. A day full of cooking and baking ensued. I made two pies; pumpkin and blueberry. The blueberry looks like a mess but it tasted wonderful. My son baked blueberry scones. Blueberry's his fav, can you tell? Then I roasted a turkey breast and a whole chicken so we'd have food ready to heat up and eat after our long days at work and school this week. My son made the purple mashed potatoes and they were so tasty!

We ate well, we played, we relaxed and the hubs put up & decorated the Christmas tree!!.

All in all it was a great day even if it did rain! Tomorrow, after a full week off, it's back to our daily routines. School's back in session and my vacation is over. ::sigh::

So this is how you blog

Anyone who knows me is aware that I've resisted blogging for a long time. Today I got a wild hair and here I am. I'll be posting about my life here so stay tuned.
